zhogie
I am a second class scout of a dead beat troop, and im working on Citezinship in the World. In my old troop, we got all the way up to the last requirement. They said to find out how to become a citezin in another country. I have searched and searched for becoming a citezin in Germany, but i have had no luck. If someone could give me a internet link or a phone number, address, etc to contact for this information, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. molscouter
I'd contact the German Embassy in Washington. The number ought to be available online. If it isn't, perhaps your local Congressman's office or one of the Senate offices would be able to get it for you.
Eamonn
Hi Zhogie, Welcome. Howz about trying this : Try doing a search in Google. Type in German Citizenship Laws. It will give you lots and lots sites - Many will be of no help. But half the fun is looking? You might want to look in at: http:/www.usembassy.de/services/dualnationality.htm. Scroll halfway down the page. There have been changes in the German Laws, but this seems to be up to date. Most of the changes had to do with how long you have to live in Germany, before you can apply for citizenship. Best of luck with your Merit Badge. Do come back and let us know how it went, or if you found any real neat sites. Eamonn

Eamonn
Your Welcome. When you get a minute please explain what a "Dead Beat Troop"is. You never know, there are a lot of people looking in here that might be able give you some tips on how to change the Dead Beat to UPBEAT !!! I do have a very long tale about a young man who enters a town and asks an old about the kind of people who live there. The old man answers, by asking " What were the people like in the town you came from?" The young man says that they were "Rude, lazy and dead beat" The old man says "Yes they are the same here." The young man goes on his way. Then another young man comes along and asks the same question. Again the old man asks "What were the people like in the town you came from?" "Oh, they were great, they helped each other, smiled and worked hard" The old man said yes it is the same here. It is a long tale so I won't tell it now.
