Why is the world consevation award a temporary patch? The boys have merit badges they earned to recieve this award and they are not temporary. Our Troop uses the right pocket to show the summer camps that they attended, if the WCA goes in the same place how can the award be shown? I think there should be a special permanet place for this award. Lets show the boys what they can wear..

I didn't know this until a couple of month's ago, but temporary patches can be worn on the back of the merit badge sash. Although our boys only wear the sash at formal events (COH, Scout Sunday, BOR) it still gives them a place to wear different temporary patches. I don't personally like the patches on the back of the sash but that's the regulation.

There are hundreds of special award patches in scouting, including the World Conservation Award. A boy can wear one at a time on the right pocket, temporarily. When he earns another, he takes the old one off the pocket and puts it on his brag rag, blanket, backpack, or whatever.
