NeilLup
My personal favorite is "It's a Lie" (The great historical bum). I also personally like "The Happy Wanderer." Last year, in Northeast Region, the Wood Badge Course Director's Development Conference and the JLT Conference held a joint campfire run by the JLT youth. Suffice it to say that the songs weren't any that I had heard before and style was, shall we say, different from that when I was a Scout. However, the singing was loud and enthusiastic and the boys were happy to teach the songs to us old guys.
Eamonn
I was there in Oct 2002 and the JLTC Lads did an outstanding job. Eamonn
sexy eagle
You make your troop sing? Isn't that considered cruel and unusual punishment? I personally would rather cut my fingers off with a dull butter knife then listen to my troop sing.
OutdoorThinker
Although our crew prefers recitations around the campfire. My favorite songs are the Mermaid song and the Birdie Song (despite my fear of birds...I've also learned the hard way that your favorite camp songs should be left in the dining hall and around the camp fire and not brought back to your dorm room to sing when you cant fall asleep...especially if your roommate can.
