Domeer23
What are all of the troop postions for boys? SPL, ASPL QUARTEMASTER ETC.
rkfrance
Welcome. I know most are listed in the Patrol Leader Handbook. I have not looked but I would imply that they are also listed in the Senior Patrol Leader Handbook, and the Scoutmaster Handbook.

Prairie_Scouter
I believe that the Handbook also allows the Scoutmaster to create other positions, as needed, within the troop. While not "patched" positions, these qualify a Scout for "time in a leadership position". Regards the list, should Asst Patrol Leader be on there as well? nldscout
The SM can approve leadership project for Star and Life. Not create positions. No, ASPL does not and is not part of list.
Hunt
Just to be very picky, "Bugler" can be used as a POR for Star and Life rank, but not for Eagle.
EagleInKY
nldscout - I believe you meant APL, not ASPL. APL is a position, it is just that it does not normally count toward POR requirements for Star, Life and Eagle. The SM has a little latitude on Star and Life. So, for example, let's say the PL disappears one month into his term for whatever reason. This forces the APL to take over and do much of his work. The SM could, IMO, grant him the POR requirement for Star and Life (but not Eagle). I think that would fall under the "Scoutmaster-assigned leadership project". Prairie_Scouter
Ah, ok, got it. Thanks for the correction on the SM "creating" positions.
nldscout
Eagle, Yep, I meant APL. I would agree in your example that he shoould count, but there are some that want a blanket policy on APL counting. We ran into that on an Eagle application a while back.
EagleInKY
As for creating positions, the most common one I've seen is "webmaster". Several troops have boys rotating through this assignment, and are counting it as a POR for Star and Life. Again, it can't be used for Eagle, but it could be for those two. rkfrance
Webmaster may be assigned to the Scribe as part of his responsibilities according to the Patrol Leader Handbook under "other troop leader positions".
