ConnCM
I missed it live. Searching for it online turned up this article. http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=%5CNation%5Carchive%5C200107%5CNAT20010731b.html
bbng
Thanks ConnCM. I figured not all would have an opportunity to hear the remarks, so I looked up the transcript too, which is here: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050731/nysu017.html?.v=
GernBlansten
Saw the picture in the local paper today of Bush shaking scout hands. Is it just me or did every single scout in that picture have an OA patch on their uni?
OldGreyEagle
Gern, it makes sense to me that a scout who would want to go to the Jamboree, and do what it takes to get there would be a fairly gung ho scout and a fairly gung ho scout would most likely be in the OA
GernBlansten
I've been to a couple of these presidential events and to get close enough to be in a photo op like that, you pretty much are chosen to be there. Just wondering if OA got you a little higher up the totem pole. Good on 'em. Scouts looked excited. Something they will remember for their life. Like that picture of Clinton shaking hands with JFK! VentureScoutNY
I just got back from Virginia today. The Jamboree, my first was amazing. I had such a blast even as a visitor. Seeing the President speak, really, I can hardly express in words. A simply amazing night. The fireworks show was the best I have ever seen. It was great to be among all of my scouting brothers! I felt completly at home I will always remember this trip! YIS
