jamiestuart
Oops. I messed up already, guess that happens when you are new here. I posted my question under the title ASM which was pretty stupid, but I thought it meant my title. It is tough being old in the computer generation. My question had to do with the need for information as a new staffer to the MBM. So far I know nothing and am getting nervous about needing to get supplies for my booth if that is my responsibility. keschmahalen
write, call, or e-mail your staff leader (either professional or volunteer). Somewhere in your acceptance letters you should have had some contact with whomever you would be working with.
emeritbadges.org
I'm the Project Manager for the IEEE Electronics Merit Badge Booth at the Merit Badge Midway. There is one person that is the coordinator for each merit badge booth. That person is the one and only person that communicates with the BSA in Texas. Are you the booth coordinator? If you are the booth coordinator and have not heard from anyone, call the the BSA National Office in Irving, TX and ask for the Merit Badge Midway Office. jamiestuart
Thanks for the replies. I have heard from a person at National finally. Seems I am the only one in my booth so I have written the curriculum to complete the badge at jambo and we are now talking supplies. Are we able to drive directly to our location so I can drop off equipment and do we have electricity? I have been redirected to the Arts and Sciences department, but I hope I am still on the midway itself. I have yet to confirm that fact. Flexibility will be the key to this one. Oh yeah, and being prepared! ;-)
emeritbadges.org
Who contacted you from National? What merit badge are you sponsoring? If you are at the midway, there is electricity. In the past we have been able to drive to the midway booths to drop off supplies prior to the Jamboree and then traffic is restricted during the Jamboree. jamiestuart
Stephen Hernandez is the man that I am in touch with and I guess I am it for the Art Merit Badge. Glad to know about the power situation and the driving. There are always a lot of supplies needed for art.
emeritbadges.org
Stephen is not a name that I recognize but I'm sure there are plenty of staff people for the merit badge midway. Are you sure you are doing the Art Merit Badge and not involved with the Arts & Science Displays? Typically corporations, professional societies and the military sponsor the merit badge booths. For Electronics I have over 100 volunteers.
