acco40 Posted September 16, 2010 Share Posted September 16, 2010 I was taught that we used information provided in the BS handbook, field book, or merit badge booklets as our resources when we instructed scouts. This ensured that the scouts had references for future consultation that was consistent with BSA "guidelines". I agree that when doing instruction, we should follow what the BSA publications state as "how to." That does not mean that we exclude other resources but for something like CPR - we should teach it the way the BSA publications instruct.
