gwd-scouter
I will be leaving with the Troop for summer camp this Sunday, so I wanted to take a moment to wish all the Scouter Dads a Happy Father's Day.
Ohio_Scouter
Happy Father's Day, guys. Thanks for all you do for our boys!
packsaddle
Thanks, wife's out of town for a conference, children out of the nest to who-knows-where. Hiked into the Toxaway Gorge yesterday and spent the day collecting and rock-hopping in the river. Slept late (0600) this morning and now am eating bacon!!! Woohooo!! Great Father's Day weekend. John-in-KC
I spent Father's Day on the Theodore Naish Scout Reservation with my son. He was in his program areas cheerfully serving the younger and weaker as a staffer, I was on the trails leading Bear Cubs and their parents to the destnations of Bear Camp as a campsite commish. That evening, I saw him lead the camp to campfire on our trails playing his tuba. Thank you, good Lord, for days like that! :-)
SSScout
Oh, the concept... Tuba? Reveille? Taps? Boots and Saddles?
DancesWithSpreadsheets
In my humble, and admittedly biased, opinion, "Taps" well played on a tuba will make you forget about the best bugle rendition you ever heard. Revielle(sp?), on the other hand, sounds a bit silly in the bass register. Regards, DWS
John-in-KC
Son has done Taps on tuba at Scout Camp. 3 seasons in fact. This year, we are doing Taps as the final close of campfire, sending the parents and Bear Cubs back to their campsites and tents for the night. Another staffer, a trumpeter, has the honor this year
gwd-scouter
I may have missed something, but how did my Father's Day wish turn in to Taps being played on the tuba? I know I posted something somewhere about Patrick doing that, but not in this thread.

gwd-scouter
John, it really is an awesome sound when played on a tuba, isn't it?(This message has been edited by gwd-scouter)
