NEI263Beaver
I'm assisting with adult training and would like some appropriate simple prayers. Any sugestions?
moxieman
A simple one as requested would be the Philmont Grace prayer: For food, for raiment, For life, for opportunity, For friendship and fellowship, We thank thee, O Lord
SSScout
May I guess? 'Scout's Own' discussion? From Rumi: Let the beauty we love be what we do. From the Navahoe: Before me peaceful, behind me peaceful, under me peaceful, around me peaceful. Robbie Burns: (with appropriate accent, if possible) Sum ha' meat, and canna eat, sum ca' eat but ha' nun. But WE ca' eat and we ha' meat, and so the Laird be thank-ed. John-in-KC
To the Old Hundredth... Be present at our table, Lord Be here and everywhere adored These mercies pass and grant that we May feast in Paradise with thee. Amen. If within the Christian community, Luther's table prayer is short, sweet and to the point Come Lord Jesus, be our guest And let these gifts to us be blessed. Amen
IM_Kathy
all our patrols will either have the PL/APL or the cook say a quick thanks prayer or they will say "X please lead us in grace" most are like... "thank you for the great weather, the time with our friends, and this wonderful food - amen"
Hal_Crawford
Kathy: I too have noticed that weather is the principal concern in scout theology. Every grace seems to thank God for the good weather or prays for better weather. I sometimes imagine that God knows when scouts are camping because his in-box fills up with weather requests. SSScout: I love the Robbie Burns grace. Hal

NeilLup
My father has not been with me now for 30 years. But when he was asked to say a prayer for a meal, he would say "Good God, let's eat!"
