DeanRx
"Hey Dad!, look at me !" anytime I've had my back turned for more than 3 minutes or am trying to get the campstove lit... This weekend - "There was a rockalanche..." while four 8 and 9 y/olds were bouldering near our campsite. "I got to go #2..." usually uttered right after you've left the filling station packing lot, or out on the water, or at the furtherest out point on the day hike. "Why do you have your pocketknife open in the car?" followed closely by, "Ooooopppps !!"

shortridge
Eagle92 - it sounds like there's a really good story that goes along with your second quote.
srisom
Don't know about Eagle92, but similar story happened when I was a Scout. Our Troop did Native American Dancing. Made our own regalia, slept in teepees. We were asked to to perform when a new Troop was being set up. Everything went fine until the last. One of the Scouts got a little too close to a torch and his roach headdress started burning. A couple of others were able to slap it out as he got it off his head. Made for a memorable ceremony. Eagle92
Yep it's a doozy. Our chapter chief was the guide for our Webeloree campfire, leading the Webelos from teh Assembly area to the campfire and the rest of the team. He raises the torch and begins his lines, when his roach headdress catches on fire in front of the Webelos. Luckily he wasn't hurt, and the roach was a BS fiber job with a hand made base. I would have been in tears if it was my 21" roach. Chapter chief became known as Torch.
