Gold Winger
I just discovered a connection between the Boy Scouts and The Who. Okay, a second degree connection but it is still there. Flipping through the insignia guide I noticed that a Scout can earn the "Love for God" emblem for the Meher Baba faith. Soooo? Every Who fan knows the song "Baba O'Riley" but who was "Baba O'Riley"? The name comes from two great influences on Pete Townshend, Meher Baba and Terry Riley, a song writer. Now if I can find a connection between ZZ Top and Scouting. I heard it, I heard it, I heard it on the X
OldGreyEagle
Connecion between ZZ Top and Boy Scouts? That's almost too easy, ZZ Top started in Houston Texas, and the HQ for the BSA is in Texas and besides, there is the ZZ Top paean about the uniform "Coz every girl crazy bout a sharp dressed man"
shortridge
The Beatles were clearly into Sea Scouting, as evidenced by their ditty about a submarine. And I've heard rumors that John and Paul were both Vigil Honor members of the OA (Ob-La-Di Lodge 68).
Buffalo Skipper
Actually, the Beatles connection is more real than that. Paul McCartney was a scout. Almost made it to Queen's Scout, I've heard.
