eagle351
Dear Scouters, Does anyone out there remember a Boy's Life article from way back in the 1960's that was about a carved wooden Totem Pole Letter Opener? I remember seeing the article when I was a Scout, and just never got around to trying to carve it. The lower part of the Totem Pole was carved as a scabbard for the upper (blade) part of the opener. I would like to make one now, but of course, locating the article is difficult. Anyone out there with a collection of old Boy's Life? Also, if anyone is interested, I have a large collection of Slide-of-the-Month articles that I would be happy to share at no cost. Thanks very much for any info! Kudu
Did you check The Inquiry Net? An article on "Totem Paper Knives" by Robert De Groat appears at: http://inquiry.net/outdoor/native/totem/paper_knives.htm General tools and techniques: http://inquiry.net/outdoor/native/totem/index.htm Kudu
eagle351
Dear Kudu, Yes, thank you, I have seen that website. Unfortunately, it is not the one I have been looking for. Thanks for taking the time to try and assist me! Best Regards!
