asm206
Does anyone have experience with brothers serving as senior patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader? Would you recomend other troops do it or don't do it? Also are there things the adult leaders should watch for?
AK-Eagle
If the youth have voted them in why not let them lead, isnt that what youth lead is all about? AK-Eagle
FScouter
I don't see any particular problem with it. But I do wonder why the SPL would select his brother to serve as ASPL. We've had brothers in our troop that we don't allow to ride in the same vehicle lest they strangle one another. Brothers or not, I don't think it is ever a good idea for others to select the assistant and thrust him on the SPL. It's the SPL's assistant and it should be his choice. Kinda like United States VP - how would it go over if Hillary Clinton was elected VP for John McCain? Or if the new president could not select his cabinet; they were appointed by Congress. frank10
I worry about family events pulling both of them at the same time. I'd want them to plan for this and tell me how they will solve this.
