District Committee

Recommended Posts

I'm curious if anyone might happen to know if there are certain criteria regarding the number of members for a District Committee.

Is there a limit? Opinions would prove interesting, but I'm more interested in facts. If you know, could you also provide the source?

Thanks, BDPT00

Every district must fulfill the four district functions: membership, finance, program, and unit service.

The program function includes four sub-committees: Camp Promotion, Activities and Civic service, Advancement and Recognition, and Training.

The Unit Service function is the commissioner service. It includes the unit commissioners and Roundtable commissioners.

The committee for each function should have enough committee members as are needed to carry out the function. Each committee is staffed by district members-at-large, elected at the district annual meeting. Each committee chair selects and recruits members to serve on the respective committees from the pool of district members-at-large, elected at the district annual meeting.

There is no limit to the number of district committee members. These are all volunteer positions.

Refer to The District #33070 available at the Scout Shop.
