The ninth annual hike organized by the San Gabriel Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America is expected to draw 400 youths for a four-mile trek that includes stops at seven houses of worship in Pomona and Claremont where they will hear from representatives of 10 different faiths, said Jim Shivers, chairman of the religious relations committee of the San Gabriel Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Representatives of various Christian religions, Islam and Judaism will take part in Saturday's hike each giving a short explanation of their faith and of one of the commandments, he said. The hike will begin at the Islamic Center of Claremont which is in Pomona and is the first time the hike includes a stop at a mosque, Shivers said.
