School Night Promotion

What I''ve been doing is calling all of the families in the PTA directory with boys in 1st and 2nd grades, as we want to build up a Tiger and Wolf den. It''s rather tedious, and I''ve only managed to contact about half the families, but I''ve generated a few good leads.

Our Dist. Exec. will be able to talk to the boys during lunch at school, so he will be sending them home with stickers and flyers.

Here are a few more possible ideas:

- School newsletter, Calendar, and Website

- Church newsletter, Calendar, and Website

- Local businesses, newspapers, etc websites

- Go to local arcade and ask to put a flyer on the board or a few by the register

- could also work at video rental store, pizza place, etc

- Do something fun and eye catching in a park or hight traffic area

Just my wacky 2 cents ... hope they are helpful

Have you talked with someone at your council office? Our council arranged for the DE''s to visit the kids at school and to send home flyers. The other thing they did was arrange to have local TV and Radio run public service announcements.

Our professionals are really involved in getting the word out for school nites. We couldn''t do it without them. Too many schools compared to the number of packs. Also our packs sponsors tend to be concentrated in a quarter of the county and kids scattered everywhere.
