le Voyageur Posted August 24, 2007 Share Posted August 24, 2007 Yes on both counts, Hess is a favorite.....I found Hess a way to get out of the funk that Hardy could put me in....Tess of the D'urbervilles made me so depressed I had to read Siddharta twice, along with Vonnegut's The Monkey House...
