Trevorum Posted April 5, 2007 Share Posted April 5, 2007 - Now that the courts have cleared the way for the 2010 Jamboree to return to AP Hill (hooray!), the planning can begin in earnest. And I need some advice. In 2005 I volunteered at the MB midway to plan and coordinate for 2010 a MB which was not then offered. This MB will require some complicated logistical coordination with the AP Hill folks. I want to start moving forward with the advance planning but I can not find any information about who to coordinate with at National. Any suggestions? Thanks! Seems to me that most National positions were'nt announced until 18 -24 mos in advance for Professionals and 12-18 mos for volunteer chairs. I'd say closer to 12. The Pro and the Chair for my area were the same for the last two, and they mentioned before we left the hill that they'd be back in 2010. So far they seem to be still involved. I discovered that the National Events Division won't appoint a chief for the Jamboree MB program until this October. However, I did get a contact name who I will keep in the loop. You're quite correct, it is pretty early. However, the program I want to develop will require some complicated planning, including advance coordination with the AP Hill Environmental Office as well as arranging daily transportation for participants to a remote site away from the jamboree encampment. If not, I loved being on staff last time, so that's what I'll do. See ya on the hill in 3 years. Is this a new Merit Badge that is to be introduced between the 2005/2010 jamborees or is it a MB that will be new to the jamboree? Oh heck, what is the MB? Trevorum Posted April 12, 2007 Author Share Posted April 12, 2007 SWS, I didn't mean to come off as cagey. In 2005 I was disappointed to learn that the Archeology MB was not offered.
