jaffolder
I have approached our CC and DLs about a service project that can be done with the Troop. I'm thinking that we could approach the Veterans Affairs and put out US Flags at the graves of every Vet at our local National Cemetery for Memorial Day. I'm not sure that it has been done in the past, but I've worked right next to Arlington National Cemetery and I think that every Vet should be honored like they do in ANC. Has anybody else done something similar to this in the past?
GernBlansten
Every Memorial Day and Veterans Day, our council organizes all units to supply scouts to put flags on every headstone at Fort Logan National Cememtary. Pretty big endeavor. 73,000 grave sites. Not sure how long they have been doing it. My father and my wife's grandfather are buried at Ft. Logan. Maybe, just maybe, my son will be the one who puts the flag on their grave.
