Finding a Lost Eagle

I have a parent in my pack who thinks her dad was an Eagle Scout. He died when she was very young, so she's unsure. How can she find out if, indeed, her dad was an Eagle?

Call the National Scouting office. I was able to verify and obtain an Eagle certificate for a co worker who earned Eagle and never received the certificate or medal. She will need to know approximate date, Dad's birthdate, location of the troop and social security number. (I think). The operator I talked to says she gets requests like this all the time.
