earrings or not?

Is there an official bsa rule about earrings being worn with class a uniforms? Are there any troop that have faced this same issue? If so, how was it handled? If there is no bsa policy....did your troop write you own into your troop bi-laws?

I like think of kids with ear rings, mohawks, spiked hair, funny color hair and baggy pants as future eagle scouts.

While we could of course go over what we have already said and new members could add their couple of pennys,. The ear-ring thread isn't that old and bylaws seems to be ongoing,I don't think we need to go over it all again.

But about them there cell phones.....

I think you are referring to the Class "Sea" uniform for Sea Scouts, which includes eye patch, ear ring, and parrot. Arrrrrrgh!

If I were in National Supply, I would consider designing an earring with the Universal Scout insignia on it in silver and gold. That would solve all the earring issues, I think.

I just want to know what is wrong with some people that they think they need to turn scouts into the personal appearance police? There is no policy about hair length or hair color or any number of other personal matters.(This message has been edited by sitrep)
