MrJZhu 3
I am going to emarald bay and doing the BSA snorkeling this summer, I was wondering if full face snorkels are allowed? There is very little info on if it is or is not.
MattR 2701
I don't know the answer but if you looked in the guide to safe scouting and can't find anything then they likely don't care. Your other option is call the camp and ask. They're usually quite helpful. Good luck and have fun. It's a good summer to be in the water.
DannyG 108
I am not aware of any full face snorkel ban. My kids like to use them. But preferred to use in calm, shallow waters for casual snorkeling only. Contact the camp to be sure they are appropriate for your activity.
mrjohns2 605
I knew I had read it before. 2021 National Aquatics Newsletter. It says in all BSA activities. Is it not in the G2SS? I didn’t look. Here is where it says they are banned: https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Aquatics-Subcommittee-eNewsletter-20210601.pdf
