"This is one of those opportunities we've been working towards to help our community more when they need us its unfortunate it had to be like this and as soon as we heard about it all of us jumped on and serving community as best we can" commented scout Chaysen Tanaka.

"Boy Scouts say there is still much to be done to help others on Maui, and they will continue serving their community."

"On Oct. 19, Carnival Cruise Line welcomed 30 scouts from the Aloha Council of the Boy Scouts of America for a visit on board Carnival Miracle while the ship was docked in Kahului. The visit was a gesture of appreciation for the group’s assistance with providing needed supplies following the wildfires in Maui.

The scouts volunteered with Direct Relief to provide needed recovery kits with respiratory masks, gloves and other supplies after the fires."

Some rowboat. Might be able to carry a council?

8/6/2024:

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have donated $1 million to Aloha Council for the replacement of Camp Maluhia bunkhouse cabins , program support, and the Council endowment.

"Jeff Bezos has shown support for the Aloha Council in the past, previously donating $500,000 in 2023. That contribution was in response to the Council’s extraordinary efforts during the Maui wildfire, where Camp Maluhia hosted over 100 Red Cross workers and several displaced families, providing essential shelter and support during a critical time."

The Whittier Trust has donated $100K which will be used to replace five Pop Hutton cabins at Camp Maluhia on Maui.

"We are excited to support Maui Scouting and are deeply impressed by the ‘Be Prepared’ mentality of the Maui Scouts,” said David Dahl, President and CEO of Whittier Trust Company. “Their quick response during the recent wildfires, including hosting displaced families and over 100 Red Cross workers, along with organizing supply drives and other emergency operations, truly exemplifies the spirit of Scouting.”
