htc1992eaglescout47553
Before any of you complain about that title, just read the following and it will make sense. With the loss of both my mom and dad, I have been thinking about this. I bet at the end of this topic, you will agree with me..... _____ "MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS" MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without my worship to God MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without my support to my Country and its support MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without my community giving me support in Scouting MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without my mom and dad supporting me in my Scouting venture MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without me wanting to give service to others MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without my Scout leaders guiding me on the path MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without my Troop encouraging me to go along the path MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without the merit badge counselors and others who sacrificed their times of teaching me new skills MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without me obeying and meditating on the Scout Law and The Scout Oath MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS... without me being ready for the future Yes, my Eagle Scout medal is worth alot. But, take ONE of these away... MY EAGLE SCOUT MEDAL IS WORTHLESS ______ How do you think?

EagleInKY
Awesome. I put a copy in my files. I must admit, the topic title did raise the old blood pressure a little bit. Are you the author?

WAKWIB
The title is eye-catching to say the least. The message rings very true. I imagine it will make the rounds and I will hear it at some Scout event someday. (probably use it myself sometime.) Thanks for the good word brother. Double Eagle
Sorry for your loss of your parents. I applaud your thoughts. That little strip of cloth and metal are one way to relive the memories of you with them. I feel the same with the loss of my father and how much sctouing we did. romboman
Nice.... I plan on using it to help inspire some my life scouts, and others on what it truly means to be an eagle.
baschram645
As soon as I read it I made a copy with the intent of using it for a Eagle CoH. You are twice blest, for having such good parents, and for you cherishing their memory. I hope I can pass this lesson on to the Scouts in the troop I work with. Eagle1973
How can we get your name and location (eg John Smith, Eagle Scout, Podunk, state) so we can give proper credit in an Eagle program or if read at a ceremony?
eagleSM
to my fellow Hoosier: you have my empathy; but i must add one more note: "My Eagle Scout Medal Is Worthless", "unless i give back to Scouting, all that i took from it, to become an Eagle Scout" eSM
eagle90
Beautiful sentiments! I have already begun to incorporate it in my mind for our next Eagle COH in January! I agree with Eagle1973, it would be good to get your name so we can credit you properly. Thanks for the input
