A Note From A Moderator (Again)

Some of you may have heard the sound of a thunk this morning. It was probably the noise made by moderators as a couple of us worked diligently to ... moderate.  All of the moderators attempt to watch the postings as often as we can to keep this forum functioning with appropriate and useful content.  I am surprised how often I see a moderator checking the forum at 2am. Maybe it says something about our insomnia. 

Unfortunately, we are needing to delete or hide some of the posts. Bottom line  they are just not Scout-like. We know that there is a lot of passion around some of the topics.  And  passions  run high. Please take time to read your posts before pushing the post button.  Specifically,  do not demean, hurl insults  or obscenities' at another person. Even if you are pasting content from a third party. 

We know that we have young readers. They may google looking for information on Dutch oven cooking, international Scouting, Green Bar Bill or countless other topics. They end up on this forum.  Let's make sure we are setting a good example and show how adults should act, even when they are in disagreement. 

If you see content that concerns you, please report it. We very often discuss specific content and its appropriateness among each other in order to reach what we believe to be the best decision.  In some instances, you may receive a message from one of us, sharing our feedback.

We value the forum participants and greatly appreciate your assistance

Feedback when something is deleted would be welcome.  It seems a post or two of mine have mine have been deleted and I am not sure why.

Your posts are so well written, it puts the rest of us to shame.  Since a scout is kind, It would appear that the moderators have graciously consented to remove some of your better written posts in order to save the rest of us from the pain and humiliation that any comparisons of your posts with the posts of other members of the forum would surely cause.  On behalf of myself and other members of the forum, we hope you understand.
