llhamarillo
I'm looking for the bronze statue by Waldine Tauch of a boy scout. The figure is saluting. In his left hand is a campaign hat. He is wearing either knickers or trousers with knee high gaiters and army boots. Behind him is a small tree stump. The inscription may read: Do A Good Turn Daily. I would like to know the location of said statue. Ms. Tauch was a distant relative of mine and I have inherited the maqette (small miniature) of this statue. My internet searches only lead to her more famous works, but my aunt assures me that this statue used to be located at the National HQ for BSA before they moved to the current location in Irving, TX. I have been there and the statue out front is not the one I'm searching for. Any help in my search will be greatly appreciated.
Grumpy
Try these folks. If anyone knows where it lies, it would be them. Coppini Academy of Fine Arts 115 Melrose Place San Antonio, TX 210-824-8502 http://www.coppiniacademy.com
scoutldr
The one in Irving is by R. Tait Mackenzie, and was presented by the Philadelphia Council when the BSA was located in New Brunswick, NJ. You might try contacting the curator at the National Scouting Museum.

Grumpy
Let me know if Coppini Academy was able to help. My money is on them. Your aunt(?) studied there under Coppini, and was eventually adopted by him, I believe.
