TionestaGal
Back in the ‘50’s my dad was camp director at Camp Tionesta, Allegheny Trails Council, PA. I was fortunate enough to have enjoyed two summers at camp, and look back at them happily. One thing I remember is singing after dinner in the dining hall. One of the song had something like “ Stodley Pump” as the chorus. I’ve looked on the internet and keep striking out. I was thinking maybe this would be a good place to ask. The Latin Scot
Are you referring to Stodola Pumpa (also spelled Stodle Pumpa), the Czech folk song? I don't know if it's the same thing you are looking for, but it's an old tune that basically means "barn pump." The Latin Scot
And because I am a teacher and there's no such thing as too much information, here is an ENTIRE THREAD full of information about the song! So, as you had supposed, this was indeed a good place to ask: https://www.mamalisa.com/blog/can-someone-help-with-a-norwegian-song-about-a-horse/ 1
TionestaGal
Well I thank all of you! Hearing it as a 4-5 year old many years ago, all I can remember is the chorus. I will have to dive into this to refresh my memory!
