RememberSchiff
Recent sightings of new OA Camping Guides are rare. Today, I found this one 2021 Where to Go Camping Guide from the Catawba Lodge (NC). https://sites.google.com/a/catawba459.org/catawbalodge/information/where-to-go-camping-guide 1
InquisitiveScouter
This one is a burr under my saddle... one of the stated purposes of the Order is to "Promote camping, responsible outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship as essential components of every Scout’s experience, in the unit, year-round, and in summer camp." In too many cases, this has devolved into putting up tents at an Ordeal weekend prior to summer camp, and not much else... Good to see some lodges still produce the WTGCG
mrjohns2
I did one for wood badge for my troop. For our inexperienced PLC a list with places, distances, and key activities that would be exhaustive of places to camp within 2 hours would make them more self sufficient and less at the whim of adult leader ideas of where is neat (even me). My ulterior motive was to turn around and give it to the lodge. The lodge was more or less “that’s nice, maybe we will get to it, do you want to be an advisor for it”.
