If a individual drives a group of Scouts to an outing or event that is 250 miles round trip and gets 20 miles to the gallon the following are the calculations: number of gallons used = 12.5 average price per gallon in my area = $2.00 total cost for gasoline for the round trip = $25.00 IRS deduction at .14 cents per mile = 250 X .14 = $35.00 even with wear and tear on the vechile the Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
