This photo of a rig to teach children rowing skills, and just have fun on water, has gone viral on FaceBook. There is talk of a local camp building one, but I wonder how the rules committee will see it.

Looks like one of the crafts our scoutcraft camp staff built over the years.  Looks both fun and problematic.

One of the most fun activities at Scout camp as a youth was building a raft out of logs and 55 gallon drums and then "sailing" it out on the lake and seeing how long it would stay afloat!  A good pioneering project.

As long as Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat are followed, I see no problem.

Troop growing up did something similar. And when I was in the UK, this was done on a regular basis at one camp located on the English Channel. THAT WATER WAS COLD!
