RememberSchiff
Camp Charles, Bailey,NC “Nothing was really going on. It was just normal rain. But then, randomly, it just picked up. Eventually, the road broke. It was all swept away. All the campfires down there are flooded, which is ironic because they’re campfires,” said Chris Johnson, a scout from Zebulon. The Nash County Fire Marshal arrived at the scene and ordered the emergency evacuation. Approximately 120 scouts and adults were camped for an overnighter which included a crossover ceremony for Cub Scouts. No reports of injuries. qwazse
Just a heads up: that link has some click bait that hijacks the page to present a fake survey pretending to be from Firefox.
Eagle94-A1
That is my local council camp. This is the 3rd time in 3 years, and 4th time in 20 years, that the road has washed out. 2 of those times it was the result of hurricanes, Dennis and Floyd and in 1999 and Matthew in 2017. Last year and this time due to heavy rain. The theory is that the clear cutting to create new homes upstream is causing this problem. With no trees and vegetation to absorb water and prevent erosion, the camp is getting slammed. We thought the problem was fixed with the dredging and rebuilt road with larger culverts. Apparently the problem still exists. Edited April 14, 2019 by Eagle94-A1 Got the year wrong for Dennis and Floyd.

Thanks for the heads up. So far, I have not found a problem clicking that link with either Firefox or Opera.
