Scouts wearing uniform to funeral

We recently had several new AoL Scouts bridge over to our Troop.  Since then, one of these Scouts lost his mother.  Would it be appropriate for the Scouts to wear their uniform to the reception and visitation?

I would ask the family.  There may be a reason they’d prefer not. It’s their call.

No rule against it. It could be appropriate. Check with the family. Usually when we do this we have scouts meet in a different location (e.g., a parking lot) near the viewing and walk in together.

We've had a few occasions to wear uniforms to funerals, including one scout and one scout parent.  Assuming there are no religious reasons to think otherwise there is no reason not to.

When my dad passed away two years ago this week, my troop came to the wake en masse in full uniform.  It was a great tribute to my dad and me, and brought many int he room to tears.  I would recommend it.

I reached out to the family and they thought it a nice gesture for the boys to wear their uniforms in support of their friend and fellow Scout.
