Thread color

Can anyone get the colors we need to sew on merit badges and rank patches? I have been looking everywhere to find the color code so we can order the thread but haven’t found anything yet.

Honestly, you don’t need to be exact! My family & everyone else I know uses the closest one they can find. If you sew it correctly, you can barely notice a difference.

I agree with ItsBrian.   It doesn't need to be a perfect match.

But if you really don't have anything close enough, then take the item with you, go to JoAnnFabrics or whatever your local sewing-notion store is. (Walmart?)   You'll be able to hold the spools of thread right up to the patch to find something quite close.  And if you need to pick between slightly-too-dark and slighty-too-light, pick the darker color thread.  It will show less.

Thank you, I will take the patches to JoAnn's. I will also try try the clear thread too.

I have been using the clear thread for about a year, and matching as close as possible to the patch with the thread in the bobbin.

When sewing by machine I get as close as I can in color. If I am hand sewing I usually stitch though the murrowed edge of the patch, so the thread does not show, and therefore I will use whatever color I have handy.
