Saltface
Always overplan this meal. Everyone eats more of these than they would expect. Hoagie rolls or similar Pizza sauce (If you want to make your own: 6 oz. tomato paste, 6 oz. water, 2 tsp. Italian seasoning, 1 tsp. basil) Mozzarella cheese Whatever you want on top (precooked) These are just like hobo/tin foil dinners. Make a pizza boat and wrap it with aluminium foil. One layer is enough but make sure it's sealed. Make a bed of coals, preferably from hardwood. Any coals that are still flaming are too hot and will burn the bread. Bake about ten minutes, flipping when half-done.
EagleonFire
we did this last year and it was great!. what we found is in the fresh bakery section of Wal-Mart there were loaves of italian bread for $1. cut it in 1/2 and you get 2 very large pizzas per loaf. We even picked most of the dough out of the bread and to have a thinner crust. It was a very easy and inexpensive meal for a large group. Plus dishes were minimal!
Jackdaws
This recipe is a hit with our pack and troop. I showed it to them a couple years ago. Hardest part is getting the cheese on top to melt without burning the bottom of the bread.
malraux
Pita bread can also work well for this.
