Laurie
Hops makes a good point in a recent post, and it seems that he is not alone in coming here--as a Scout--to check out what is going on. So, my questions to Scouts are: What do you, as a Scout, want to see in your adult leaders? How can we adults help you to accomplish your Scouting goals, whatever they may be? You see, I've got the books, have plenty of Cub training and have just begun Scout training, but I'd like to hear from you who've been in the program and have the experience. The words of the boys in the units I serve never fall on deaf ears (ie the Cubs' wishes were what I used to develop our summertime calendar); your words will help me be to be a better Scouter. TIA! Laurie
Hmmm...either a poorly worded question, Scouts who prefer to lurk only, or the adults are doing a fantastic job already
hops_scout
Sorry I didnt respond sooner. This is the first time I've seen it;) I would say that they need to let the boys run the show. And encourage it!! Some do let them do it, but the boys shy away from it. Thats what the problem is in my troop. I'm doing what I can.
Laurie
Not a problem Hops How can an adult help a boy who shies away from carrying out the program? Can you think of an example?
ozemu
Come on Scouts. Looking at the top of the page there are lots of us waiting for some pointers. Where are the others?
