Scouter99
As a Scout, I always dreamed one day I would send in my $5 and get the plans for this hovercraft, but, alas, it never happened. I was an old soul, and knew I was never going to have a vacuum motor laying around. Did any of you ever build this, or know a Scout who did? (wasn't sure which forum to put this in, maybe working with kids?) Edited May 29, 2015 by Scouter99

TAHAWK
Our museum has one that was built by a Scout years ago. We have used it at the Scout exhibit at the Cuyahoga County Fair. Only problem was not getting tangled in the electric cord. Max load was 150 pounds.

SeattlePioneer
Yep, I've seen it done at den and troop meetings. A vacuum cleaner works OK. Probably a good activity for a Webelos den or Scout Patrol to experiment with a develop. Not really all that difficult to make it work after a fashion.
