Depends on the country. The recommendation from the banking industry, State and the travel agent industry is only use a debit card in Europe. Use a CC for everywhere else and always for anything over $100.

One technique:  ONE physical card.  Multiple authorized signatures.

 

The Treasurer keeps the card, but can pass it to the CC, SM, camping coord as needed.

One other note:  My banker told me "Want to avoid debit card fees?"  Always say credit when swiping a debit card.

Saying "credit" makes a debit card into a credit card?  I never, to my knowledge, had a debit card, so I haven't a clue.

Or just get a credit card and set it up as ACH payment.  You get credit rating points for it and yet it operates as a debit card with no debit card fees..
