Daped01
If this was already posted please delete this. Last week i saw they have webinars for semi-position specific roles for the new updates coming. Starting January 17th you can participate in Cubmaster Specific, Den Leader Specific, and LDS specific webinars. http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/programupdates.aspx
PbW
Maybe I'm missing something due to living in an area with a very low Mormon population... but why does the LDS have a separate / specific training? Do they run a different program than non-LDS units?
qwazse
The LDS uses the BSA program to meet the needs of the church's youth development program. So, there are specific leadership needs, scheduling needs, age targets etc ... (although the age targets apply more to young boy scouts than cubs, that would certainly impact which troop you would direct your AoL's to). Other COs adapt the program as well; however, this tends to happen at the unit level. LDS simply sets nation-wide guidelines on how to do so. Eagle94-A1
Yes, LDS units do do things a little differently. Biggest differences I know of is that Cub Scouts is the old 3 year traditional program (8 year olds are Wolves, 9 year olds are Bears, and 10 year old are Webelos), 11 year old Boy Scouts do not camp and meet separately from the rest of the troop, and their leaders are appointed by their bishops.
