OldGreyEagle Posted December 16, 2003 Share Posted December 16, 2003 You guys can all blame Mike F for this one, his post on the V8 of scouting was the inspiration for this Get your motor runnin' (We have the engine analogy down, lets drive the 8 methods as far as we can) Head out on the highway (the highway of Life, and remember its the trip, not that destination that makes us who we are) Lookin' for adventure (At Philmont, Sea Base, Boundary Waters, Summer Camp, and all points in between) And whatever comes our way (We have the Oath and Law to see us through) Yeah Darlin' go make it happen (The Scouting Programs need committed adults, or rather, those who should be committed, to make it work) Take the world in a love embrace (We love everybody, we dont teach hate) Fire all of your guns at once (never hold anything back, give every endeavor your best shot) And explode into space (Did you see how high that rocket went, its way cool, I love Space Ex, are their other merit badges where you get to do neat stuff?) I like smoke and lightning (Ever been to an AO Campfire?) Heavy metal thunder (Ever been to Summer Camp with Outdoor Thinker (AKA The Princess of Precipitation)?) Racin' with the wind (these sailboats are really neat, they go so fast !) And the feelin' that I'm under (A 20 mile hike will do that) Yeah Darlin' go make it happen (I know honey, but the kids planned this trip and I am needed for 2 deep leadership, the grass will be there when I get home, and the trash, the dirty garage, the hallway painting project) Take the world in a love embrace (We love everybody, we dont teach hate) Fire all of your guns at once (never hold anything back, give every endeavor your best shot) And explode into space (First we get to make rockets, and then learn how to use a canoe, get to carry a knife and use an axe, make our own rope, and build a bridge while electing our own leaders? How cool is that?)
