Dues

Recommended Posts

The troop dues are $55 to cover registration and bling. We held the line this year but expect to need to increase next year. The boys would rather their fundraising go to reduce camp fees. Which we try to keep at $15 per weekend. The crew dues are $28 and cover registration costs and members pay full cost for everything.

National registration is $24

Boys life is $12

Beyond that our unit charges $1 per week, Covers merit badges, rank advancement youth training and the other sundry expenses that seem to crop up including the dog that ate the troop flag.

Campouts.......Basic food cost $3 per meal per boy so $15 for the weekend, then if there is a campground, cabin or activity expense then that is added on. Our most expensive trip was $65 which included a Cabin, Snow Tube rental and gas for the 250 mile round trip drive.

Summer camp for us is $210.

Our dues/registration is $55 with Boy's Life being optional.

Campout fees vary depending on the venue and what activities are planned. Normally they are $20 for the weekend, but if we are renting a cabin, renting canoes, etc. It will go up to about $30 - $35.

Our council summer camp is $100 more per boy....Yes it is an outstanding price......

But it is not a flashy camp, no blob at the lake or ATV's or horses......

But a fantastic BASIC scout program.

The camp is always booked solid and you need to make your reservation for the coming year before you leave or you will lose your campsite.

Dues are $144. Fee includes Boy's Life. Troop pays for Leader BSA registrations as a thank you. This is a large troop with a lot of Leaders. Volunteers are not reimbursed for mileage unless it is further than 4 hours. A portion is used towards the cost of NYLT. ASMs may request for up to $25 for training, but most do not.

Base campout price averages $17-18 to include site and food. If the Scouts whitewater, climb, snow tube, amusement park, caving, it is going to cost more.

Troop did not raise fees to cover increased BSA registration fees. They will look at the budget again in April.

Out-of-Council summer camp this year is $250.

For my troop All scouts/adults pay their own yearly registration fees and boys life subscription. Summer camp is paid by the family. We charge $25 a month. No camping fees. Patrols arrange their own food. Special events can be extra depending on the budget and cost. We mix up wilderness camping with park site camping to keep costs down. As a benefit wilderness camping seems more adventurous to the scouts. Depending on the budget (fundraising & dues) the COR decides how much to give towards any scout wanting to go to summer camp. For my pack The scout/adult pays for yearly registration fees and then $5 a month. The den keep a $1 of that.
