Basementdweller
Kinda what I thought. I have read the work book, might look at the GTA. A lad told me he wouldn't read the work book, I am not sure what I would do.
Basementdweller
I would find out who's instructing and ask them what the objectives of the course are. More than the $, what's a morning of your time worth? I'd rather be camping. Speaking of which, time to load up. See y'all.Yep we were out last weekend as well, Wayne National forest. 16 miles. See y'all. In my council, Dan Beard council, we provide a Life to Eagle Seminar a few times a year through the National eagle Scout Association. I'm pretty it's always been free with the exception of we ask for a donation to cover the cost of the pizza that we buy. Normally the seminar runs about two hours. What the heck is your council doing Basmentdweller? Otherwise, how did you like Wayne National Forest?

"I have had Eagle candidates come to me with their application and ask me how to fill it out. I ask if they read it, and they said no."
Tampa Turtle
I do not think our Council charged for the adult training, For the boys we do a Life to Eagle campout (really just an overnighter and open to Stars as well) at least once a year. I think we charge $5 for the gas and Dutch Oven meal. $40...Geesh.
eagle90
I hope the filet Mignon dinner and open bar is worth it! Our council runs a few life to eagle conferences a year, free of charge.
perdidochas
Well, can't be a requirement, so I would ignore it.
fred johnson
$40 really? Not worth it. - Read the eagle packet. - Read the GTA section ... if you want. - Talk to your troop eagle coach - Talk to the district eagle advancement contact ... if appropriate Charging $40 just seems out of place. Must be something special to charge $40.
Basementdweller
This was a dead unit, two boys 4 years ago and now we might be 40 strong with the visits last night. No Troop Eagle coach, 1.5 ASM's and me are it. Not sure our district has an Eagle advancement person. Only one guy district advancement committee.
