Ree being a shift form the prefix of re to that of a suffix. Re as in renew, restart, review, etc... Hence, a jamboree - a gathering of the villige, tribes, or clans for a sing, a dance, a feast to (re)new old friendships and kinships, a (re)turn to one's common roots...
