SR540Beaver
I was unaware that the political parties were broken up into subsets such as evil and good. Live and learn.
LovetoCamp
I live in the People's Republic of Illinois. My candidates get massacred by the Chicago Daley Machine. But, the Republican Party of Illinois is without a doubt the most inept bunch of corrupt, inept, losers in the history of bad politics. Between George Ryan, Jim Ryan, and now JAck Ryan, the Illinois GOP won't win another state-wide election for a few centuries. W ought to stay as far away from here as he can. I like the idea of moving away. What's the most hard-corps GOP county in the country?

dan
Political labels are divisive and restrictive. Most thinking people I know are a mix of views, defying any label. And I worry about the ones who are not such a mix; this usually means that they haven't thought much about the issues, and are simply falling back on "the party line". I just looked at my voters card it says Republican?
Guest OldGreyEagle
I thought long and hard about this, and I may live to regret it, but I don't claim to be any one thing, here is my presidential voting record 1968 Nixon 1972 Nixon (ok, I am not so proud either) 1976 Carter(turned into one of the best ex- presidents in my memory 1980 Reagan (projected a lot of strength) 1984 Andersen (lets see, Iran Contra, Baker, and do you remember the deal with Silverado Savings and Loan? How much did THAT whole S&L thing cost? 1988 Dukakis (OK, that thing in the tank was pretty silly, but I still liked him) 1992 Clinton (hey I voted for Nixon twice, I was due) 1996 Dole (if he would have campaigned with the personna he showed after the election, he would have won) 2000 Bush (Lesser of the two evils) So that makes me??? BTW, I dont intend on justifying any of my choices, whats done is done, 2004 vote still very much in doubt

evmori
Registered democrat but I am not a party line voter. I vote for who I think will do the best job! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:
acco40
In college, I voted straight "Birthday" Party ticket. In Presidential elections, my guy usually doesn't make it as the party candidate (where have you gone Mo Udall?): 76 - Ford (maybe, voted absentee ballot while away at school and after the election, media stated that many absentee ballots were never counted). 80 - Carter 84 - Anderson (great minds think alike eh OGE?) 88 - Bush (Sr.) 92 - Clinton 96 - Clinton 00 - Gore
packsaddle
Similar to OGE and Ed. OGE, don't feel too bad about the Nixon thing. A lot of us made the mistake, me included. I'm registered to vote but this state doesn't designate a party so I am unaffiliated. That said, I will not vote for Bush this election. I do plan to vote for some good people (who happen to be a mix of Republicans AND Democrats) for other offices.
packsaddle
Jason, you do know, don't you, that the rapture already happened? Back in 1996 sometime...you were left behind with the rest of us ilk.

NJCubScouter
Yes, I think packsaddle was just being silly, Jason, but not quite as silly as some guy who started a thread equating the first two letters of "ACLU" with "Anti-Christ."
