Left or right handed?

This has come up enough that it begs the question and I'm also curious because I've been tracking it for years in the Scouting profession. A few facts from my last 15 years as a BSA professional:

1) in my first council, there were 14 professionals on the staff -- 5 were right-handed, 9 were lefties.

2) In my second council, when I started, there was an even split -- 5 lefties, 5 righties.

3) At every professional training course I've attended, they have given some sort of written survey. I look around the room and count how many pens are being moved by the left hand while writing. The least I've seen is 50% left and the most I've seen was fully 70% left.

Before anyone asks -- yes, I'm left-handed.

Is it just the professionals, or are there a lot more left-handed Scouters than in the general population?

So which are you?

Ed, not that it's any of my business, but are you more than one person using an account name? And I have seen you say before that you are a Democrat, which is also somewhat puzzling given some of the things you say.

Oh, and so I won't get accused of going off-thread; I'm still right-handed. Everybody in my family is right handed, and since some of them are current or former Scouters or Scouts, I guess they count too.

Bats:Both; not much power, but it will go;)

Throws baseball: better right, but can left right handed, I can throw upwards of 300 feet and throw in high 60s

Throw Football: better right, some left about 35 yards

Shoot rifle: left

Archery: right

Write: left

Kick soccer ball: better left, but can right

Kick football: powerful with left foot punt: 50 yards, field goals: 25, kick offs: about 40... and I'm not a starter in any of those:):)

Eat: the quickest way to the mouth;)

Shoot basketball: can both, better right

Shoot hockey: right

And OJ my son

I'm a very proud left-hander.

Sister Mary- Matthew, tried to "Cure me" But even with her connections - She failed.

Some people say that I eat left handed, I say that Americans eat wrong handed.

I can count on either hand and am ambidextrous when it comes to holding a good pint.

I've never made the connection before but in retrospect, two out of three DEs that I've worked with have been southpaws.

I do just about everything right handed. However I go both ways with a fork, left for meat and right to scoop up mashed potatoes.

Politically, I'm a right wing Socialist who believes that everyone has an obligation to work so the government can support me in style.
