friendship sticks

My group is interested in making friendship sticks so I am looking for the instructions and story that describe what the different beads represent.

Actually the friendship sticks I am looking for are a plain stick with a leather lace onto which beads of different colors are placed to represent different things. I am looking for the story that tells what order the beads go on and what each color represents.

I've heard of witness bracelets where a leather bracelet has beads of these 7 colors (there is also a 5 color version):

yellow = light and truth

black = our sin

red = Christ's blood

white = salvation

blue = baptism

green= growth of faith

gold = eternal life
