Restore Air Scouting or Air Exploring in Venturing

A co-ed Air Scout program could be restored, would BSA republish the old Air Exploring Manuals from the 1950's and 1960's. I believe it could be done with a good rate of success.

I would think that before that would happen, there would have to be a fair number of aviation oriented Venture crews. How popular is aviation in the Venturing world?

Exploring still exists and Aviation Exploring is still going. I helped create the last Program Helps that was used before Exploring became a subsidiary. It is vocation and avocation oriented depending on the Post.

 

As long as this is a viable program, I can't see them changing Venturing away from High Adventure orientation to accomodate Aviation. JMHO

 

This would not preclude a Crew from having an exchange with a local Aviation Post. I sense from our post though, you were looking more at achievments like the Air Ace Award. Doubt that will ever happen.

Venturing's Focus is not High Adventure, Venturing is composed of 5 distinct areas:

1. Outdoors

2. Arts and Hobbies

3. Sports

4. Religious Life

5. Sea Scouts

Ventures can plan just about any program they want within the bounds of the G2SS!

 Again, Venturing does not equal High Adventure!

Venturing is so much more than "just high adventure"
