Eqeq
I have a Girl Scout who will be receiving her Gold Award in a couple of weeks. Any ideas on how to make the ceremoney and event especially nice?
BDPT00
One would certainly need some details. Are you familiar with Eagle Courts of Honor? Does your community have a history of presenting Gold Awards? Are they all presented at the same time (they are here, and I think that's very unfortunate). What does the recipient want or expect? Are you the parent? What do they want? I think the place to start is to state what is normal, and tell us if you want more or less than that. Ideas will come. BDPT00
Eqeq
I have seen 3 Eagle Awards. I think she is only the third in town to receive one. There was a state ceremoney for all the girls earning gold in the state. I think her Gold Award Advisor and the (town chairman?)will do the talking part. They have asked me to select a date and location to present her gold award. I hope to book the local library room. I hope to put out a table of food. A light lunch with desert. Flowers would be nice too. I am looking for something to make the event shine.
clydesdale115
There's the nicest info booklet here: http://www.girlscoutstotem.org/Young_Adults/GACelebrationPacket.pdf It has some really neat ideas for a Gold ceremony - maybe you can find something helpful! clyde
