When Dakota Fanning joins the Girls Scouts at precisely 6 o'clock Thursday evening, she will not only be "the most powerful actress in Hollywood"--as Entertainment Weekly recently dubbed the 11-year-old, based on her grosses in films such as "War of the Worlds," "The Cat in the Hat" and "Uptown Girls"--she will also become the most potent cookie-selling machine in history.

 

If you were a studio bigwig, and a little green-clad munchkin--who many industry insiders already believe may become one of the biggest movie stars in history--showed up on your Bel Air doorstep, what would you do?

 

You'd buy a tractor-trailer load of Thin Mint cookies, that's what.

 

Immediately following her induction ceremony, which will take place outside the AMC Burbank Theater, Fanning will rushed inside the theater by her new scoutmaster (and a phalanx of earpiece-wearing security goons, on the lookout for any hormonal Cub Scouts with suspicious merit badges), where she will greet an audiences filled with uniformed Girl Scouts prior to a screening of her new movie, "Dreamer: Inspired By a True Story."
