mdutch
Does anyone know what the OA Sash is made out of or does anyone have experience ironing it (ie. does it melt easily, that sort of thing) Thanks, Eric
scoutldr
I have ironed mine many times. Hasn't melted yet. Darn thing does keep getting smaller, though.
mdutch
how hot do you set the iron to?
scoutldr
I usually use the middle range...with lots of steam. Be careful that the tip of the iron doesn't snag the red threads of the arrow, though. They will start to unravel with time and use.
9muckraker7
I'm not really familiar with types of cloth, but I believe the sash cloth is two-ply cotton twill. I have no idea what this means, but I do know that it can be ironed, and even perhaps washed! I've washed mine several times with no problem, but I've heard horror stories of PINK SASHES when people try to wash them. Dry-cleaning would be the safest bet on this then, but a new sash isn't that hard to come by...
scoutldr
I wash mine in one of those mesh bags like ladies use to wash nylons in. Keeps it from getting tangled up in the washer.
Lynda J
Wash them on gentle cycle in cold water and put about 1/4 vinegar in the wash water. The vinegar will help set any unstable color dyes in the fabric and the red yarn will be less prone to fade and run.
