Cubby's Cubmaster
I'm looking for some great ways to raise more money for a cub scout pack. We do popcorn in the fall. Considering a fund raiser in the spring to help pay for summer camp. Thanks in advance, Cubby's Cubmaster
pixiewife
Hi Cubby, My pack has decided to do this scratch card fundraiser this spring. It was largly decided upon for several reasons. First of all, it is easy and the boys don't have to really sell anything. They just ask people to scratch off two dots that have a hidden value underneath. The dots have a maximum value of $3, so the maximum donation amount is $6. This was huge for us, a lot of us feel kind of bad asking people to buy expensive items. In exchange, the donor then gets a sheet of nationally recognized coupons worth $50+/-. The biggest reason we chose this fundraiser: 80% profit!!! I am organizing it since my nieces hockey team did it with great results. Hope that helps! ~Pixie P.S.~ The web address is www.raisefundsquickly.com
AnniePoo
We did a pack rummage sale last spring, selling items donated by pack families, friends, and community members. We raised over $300, and by changing location I think we can make $500 next spring.
meschen
pixiewife, Has you Pack submitted a unit money-earning application yet? See question 3 on the back of that form. I know the item you're talking about doesn't have prizes, but still the scratch-off feature of it does have a "game of chance" feel to it and I'd be curious if the Council has approved this type of fund-raiser.
